70% reduction in disinfectant use by Nanobubble at Salmones Camanchaca
The innovative technology was successfully piloted at the plant, resulting in a 70% reduction in the use of disinfectant in the Chiller and a 50% reduction in the use of detergents in the foaming process, which is used to clean the surfaces of the equipment. Thanks to these results, Camanchaca decided to implement it, becoming the first salmon farming company in Chile to integrate a nanobubble system for its hygiene processes.
Nanobubbles, composed of a mixture of different gases, are able to penetrate different porosities, allowing detergents or sanitizers to be applied to smaller surfaces, improving their drag and permanence over time. This offers an effective and sustainable solution, since it reduces the amount of water and chemicals used, without affecting the high quality standards thanks to the results shown in the microbiological controls carried out daily.
