Co-current Protein Skimmer should be used with Salty water with salinity above 15 ppt.
It can also be used with saltwater with salinity less than 15 ppt however with coagulating
agents such as Ozone, fermented microbiome or hydrated lime ( Calcium hydroxide)
Water to be treated (skimmed) and Air in the form of fine bubbles travel in the same direction
inside the Skimmer body. Fine bubbles being static-charged can stick around suspended organic
dirts (long-chained protein) which help float them up into the foam riser and foam collection cup.
Such floated dirts can then be removed out of the closed end foam collection cup due to excessive
undissolved air (mostly nitrogen gas).
